Special Offer for 2023 End of Year

Old (Red Stamp) Fuzhuan Bricks

The category of age tea is an illustrious one, comprising some of the rarest and most unique tea, highly prized for both the history and value they represent. In the last 3 decades age tea has enthuse the tea market with fervor and excitement, appealing to everyday tea enthusiasts, aficionados, tea collectors as well as investors. Amidst a limited and dwindling stock buyers would compete against rising prices, culminating in auction houses displaying some of the most sought after and expensive antique teacakes. To satisfy demand the age tea market that was in the beginning largely driven by puerh tea would expand and become more diversified. Strong financial incentives provided the stimulus to seek out hidden treasures, opening new avenues and offering access to many types of old tea. In the years that followed the mainstream recognition for age tea would spread to old stock of Liu An and Liubao. This would later be followed by the revival in the appreciation of age oolong and later white tea. The next in line to take the spotlight is a question that has many old tea devotees and investors mulling over.

Greater recognition and prestige is financially rewarding for those who got in early but for the humble tea drinker it also means competing in a larger market at higher prices. It is for this reason I have been keen to explore old Fu cha before things potentially become overheated. Despite its more famous siblings Liu An and Liubao, Fu Cha is a lesser known variety of Heicha (dark fermented tea) that has comparatively been under the radar of mainstream recognition. That is not to say that all has been quiet. In recent years the market for Fu cha has seen a resurgence with a remarkable outpouring in the production of new tea. Obtaining old stock of Fu cha requires considerably more effort but it all becomes worthwhile when a deal gets completed and good teas have been secured. I have refrained from opening these old Fuzhuan bricks until the first order comes in so that a number of tea enthusiasts can experience
drinking a newly opened age tea and follow the progression thereafter. It can offer an interesting and insightful experience. In the spirit of sharing I will be allocating a proportion from each brick as Free Samples and adding these to end of year orders.
