Bomb Blast in Bangkok, Thailand

Front page, Thai newspaper Daily News

A sad beginning to the week as a bomb exploded late Monday evening at 1900pm (local time) on 17 August 2015 in front of the Erawan Shrine at Ratchaprasong intersection. The blast left at least 20 dead and more than 125 injured.

Ratchaprasong intersection is in the heart of the city of Bangkok. It is a busy shopping area that is popular with both locals and tourists. 90% of people living in Bangkok will likely have passed by this intersection at one time. It is a place that I myself often frequent and use as a meeting place for both work and entertainment. Such a destructive and unforeseen incident is a stark reminder of the uncertainty that life can bring. No one knows when their time is up. Live life in the way that you will have the least to regret.

Thoughts and prayers to the innocent victims of a devastating and tragic event.
